Key Light Electrical is a locally owned electrical contractor based in Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin, proudly serving homeowners and businesses throughout Jefferson County and nearby Rock, Dane, and Waukesha Counties.

We are currently looking for someone motivated, dependable, and ready to learn a skilled trade. As an Electrical Apprentice, you’ll work directly alongside a Master Electrician with 23+ years of hands-on experience on residential and small commercial projects, from remodels to new installations in homes, offices, and retail spaces.

You won’t just assist, you’ll learn the trade from the ground up, gaining hands-on experience from rough-in to final trim while building long-term skills in the electrical trade.

What an Electrical Apprentice Will Learn

As an Electrical Apprentice at Key Light Electrical, you’ll gain hands-on experience across a wide variety of residential and commercial projects throughout Jefferson County and nearby Rock, Dane, and Waukesha Counties.

Apprentices gain experience across every stage of the job — from inventory management and jobsite organization to rough-in wiring, testing, troubleshooting, final installation, and professional communication with customers and team members.

Here are just a few of the skills and responsibilities you’ll gain experience with:

✅ Electrical troubleshooting & repair
✅ Lighting installation & upgrades
✅ Panel and service work
✅ Remodel & renovation wiring
✅ New construction electrical installation
✅ Testing, diagnostics, and code-compliant installation practices
✅ Professional jobsite organization & communication

We believe in investing in people who are motivated to learn the trade, and we’ll help guide you through the Wisconsin DSPS apprenticeship pathway as you work toward becoming a licensed Journeyman Electrician, including guidance with Wisconsin DSPS Registered Electrician Learner enrollment and tracking the required hours for licensing.
